I thought it was a nice way to commemorate my favorite author. Tonight's meeting at Goodbye Blue Monday is going to tackle short stories written by some of the club's regulars. For whatever reason, his books appeal to me, and so I found myself reading and greatly enjoying Breakfast of Champions, or Goodbye, Blue Monday this weekend. Breakfast of Champions, or Goodbye Blue Monday is a 1973 novel by the American author Kurt Vonnegut. Breakfast of Champions over Galapagos. I had heard of Vonnegut, but had never read his work. The decal attached to it is a clay likeness of a picture in Kurt Vonneguts novel, “breakfast of champions”. Gotta put Breakfast of Champions in over Hocus Pocusmy favorite author ever. [Kurt Vonnegut] -- The author questions the condition of modern man in this novel depicting a science fiction writer's struggle to find peace and sanity in the world. I learned from Chad that this was an homage to the alternate title of his favorite Vonnegut novel, Breakfast of Champions. They named it Goodbye Blue Monday. If you can't see the decal that well, it is an atomic bomb with the words “Goodbye Blue Monday” on it.
